    Precision Engineered

GHK-Cu (Copper Tripeptide-1) is a naturally occurring copper-binding peptide widely studied for its role in gene modulation related to tissue remodelling, collagen synthesis, and antioxidant defence. Research has explored its involvement in upregulating genes associated with extracellular matrix organisation while downregulating pro-inflammatory cytokines and oxidative stress markers.

Copper-peptide complex with enhanced solution stability
Studied for gene modulation related to collagen and ECM remodelling
Investigated for downregulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines
Research interest in stem cell signalling and angiogenesis pathways
Explored in TGF-β and integrin pathway research

    Research Background

GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine (CAS 89030-95-5, ~401.9 g/mol), first isolated from human plasma by Pickart in 1973. The copper-bound form is the one most in vitro studies characterise, distinct from the uncomplexed free tripeptide (CAS 49557-75-7).

In cultured dermal fibroblasts it modulates genes tied to extracellular matrix organisation, including collagen, elastin, and glycosaminoglycan synthesis, alongside TGF-beta and integrin signalling, with reported downregulation of pro-inflammatory transcripts. Supplied for in vitro and laboratory research only.
